Last week!

Atlanta!!!!

I just returned last night, from my tradeshow in Atlanta! Snow awaited me and I am so inspired!Artists, my customers, it was and is all so much fun! I received an unbelieveable welcome home from Jack, Abbey, Katie, Joe  and my sweet black lab, Will. Evidently, the newly crawling Abbey is enchanted by WillDSC05091. She crawls over to him, he moves 1 foot and re-sits. She then crawls over to him, repeat, about 100 times a day. 85 lb Will makes a big deal about moving, sighing loudly. Jack did not like that I was gone at all and jumped up into my arms and we just danced around the room. I was only gone a week...my cup runneth over...

Just some photos from the show! Michael, my talented friend from Atlanta is the handsome fellow in one photo and the others are from the Bethany Lowe masquerade party! a few are from my showroom.

OPEN HOUSE

November 08, 2008

A Saturday in November

DSC04230 I am finishing my last Christmas order today except for a few last minute turkeys. Now I am preparing for my annual Open House ! We...Abbey, Jack, Katie and Katie's husband, Joe  were going to go to an annual holiday open house in our village this morning. We are a sturdy people (not by choice!) but sleet and rain have cancelled our plans...no fun with a baby.I am putting a photo from last year's event with the big white horse.

Last night on my walk with Willie , my senior black lab, he spotted 6 critters in a crabapple tree.Pilgrim book Match1   when I returDSC04232ned alone , with rDSC04232 egular camera ,there were only 2 (opossums? raccoons?)

A lady commented on the red santa with a tree from the Jan 2008 blog. If she will email me at teenaflannerstudio@yahoo.com about its availability, I do have it right here in my studio. No shops have ordered it because he has not been in my Atlanta showroom.

Facebook, Open House and Halloween!!!

Zzzz I am now on facebook, adding another computer related iten that I barely understand. I  guess if I become really proficient at this it will intensify my tendency to be a hermit!

My annual, 15 + years Open House is coming up...

Friday Dec 5 from 3-6pm and Sat Dec 6 from 10-12  at my home 820 Kurtis Dr

Elm Grove WI 53122

and from now on, open by appointment to a collector who may be in the area. My studio is not the cute little studio you see in magazines. It is big and airy with heated floors and lots of light. It is however a mess,  something I guess I need to just get used to as I cannot change. Should you ever be in the area and give me a call beforehand, I can brew some ice tea and have a number of my pieces on display for purchase. I opened up my home this way last week for a delightful couple from California and it was a highlight for me. They thought my space was a safe, warm magical dwelling seemingly away from the world. My grandchildren were here and all bonded and ate the lovely chocloates they brought me!DSC04198

A lovely, busy autumn!

DSC02646 DSC03602  Lake Tahoe, visitng my son ChrisDSC04136 Sus and Jack or Wonder woman/batboyDSC04145  DSC04142 Such a lovelyDSC02636 season! As usual, mostly photos. We have gone to the zoo, taken long walks down the lane to the village and had a few fires in the old stone fireplace. It is my busy season for Teena Flanner Originals and I take my grandbabies 3 days a week. I am so lucky to be able to rearrange my life to just hang out together, keeps me young. Jack is a character and a half at 3 and Abbey just sat up by herself, a fun little milestone. It happened on my watch and I apologized to her parents but what can you do. She obliged by sitting still for photos. So here I will post a random group of photos and then get back to work on my remaining Christmas orders for my shops. I find my creative spirit works best when I have 12 hour stretches of time to break up as I wish instead of 8 hour days. I think I may have created my career just because of my DSC04168 work habits.DSC04086  DSC04116   Zoo trainDSC04125 Fall fun!

Summer & Personal appearance!!

Summer is over and as you readers already know, I haven't spent much (any!) time on the computer all summer. All is fine and I am all about pictures and not much about typing anyway, worse than "hunt and peck!" Unfortunately, in high school, taking a personal typing course in summer school, I had the only typewriter with the letters and numbers on the keys. Of course I peeked and have been paying the price ever since.Dsc03848 Dsc03826 Dsc03828 Dsc03822

Here are Copy_2_of_dsc03712some photos of Dsc03795  new pieces, my visit to see Chris near Lake Tahoe , my beautiful hand crafted bed and the appearance poster! My personal appearance is October 4 . Susannah and I will fly to LAX,  like the old days when we worked together each day, did all the shows and ended up on the beach in the evening.

Enjoy the indian summer! Can we still say that? Of course we were told to sit like "an indian" in school when requested by a teTrad_event_08_2acher, then it was a more appropriate "sit like a pretzel." Now in Jack's preschool, it is " criss cross applesauce!" way cuter don't you think?Dsc03876_2

Photos of the baby will be Abbey, the live wire, Jack, etc.Dsc03858_3 Dsc03833
